the munich born sound architect has released 13 eps, two long payers and numerous mixes in her distinctive extravagant and charismatic style. her music includes techno productions as well as -music for theater-. we picked up on cio when she moved to cologne several years ago and appreciate her as an exceptional human being and as a tastemaker. this is the second release she has done with us. her hypnotic djs sets enchant clubbers around the world, from berlins berghaim to people in tokyo. her track >off< describes a biotope in which two different poles gently collide. rooms of reverb meet orchestral sounds meet acoustic clicks, in a process of an ongoing motion, where there is no beginning and no end. the flip side highlights >and on< shows white horses amids the waves of sounds. this track could be an electronic soundtrack to a day at an isolated beach in the indian ocean. enjoy.

dartriix is a sporadic but permanent collaborative project between two of op.discs label heads, fumiya tanaka and yoshihiro hanno aka radiq. after 6 years of absence, dartriix finally makes their return with this intensive double pack lp flying one hand, which is a good surprise to us.

the detroit music community has outposts in nearly every major city, and vancouver, british columbia is no exception. this ep represents the connection of two such artists, detroit native, josh garrett, who currently resides in vancouver and runs the subspec label, and rennie foster, a stalwart of the underground, who has spent a quarter of his life in tokyo, but born in bc and now living back there, in vancouver. rennie has released on a myriad of detroit labels, such as transmat, teknotika, soiree, subject detroit, wallshaker, and motech. josh and rennie met in vancouver, only since rennies recent return, and realizing they were of the same tribe, immediately began to collaborate on a number of projects, now including this limited run, double a-side, record, chalk full of dj friendly techno trax, firmly rooted in the motor city sound, yet unique enough to be a contributor, not just another imitator.

it is 2013 and in this release we hear a totally new approach to sampling. a vinyl release of two artists. fitz ambro$e (cape breton island) residing intokyo, & ohbliv of richmond, virginia(usa). fitz ambro$e sound has unique influence from 90s hip hop and 80s soul, he is also affiliated with cosmopolyphonic collective in tokyo. from the record archives of his father, ohbliv developed the charm of sampling. the record is a 14 track collage of beats from two uniquely talented artists who transcend their individual musical roots. as if competeing with each other both leave the remnants of sampling material, and the method in which they cut and chop is truely an interesting work.
